Journey To Rehoboth.

Topic: Journey To Rehoboth.

Text: Gen. 26 vs 22, Exo. 15 vs 27 & 1 Peter 5 vs 10.

There is light for me at the end of the tunnel. There is water for me in the heart of the desert and flowing rivers in the wilderness.  God is the rudder of my life: He will surely take me to a safe haven in Jesus' name.

In Genesis 26 vs 22, the Bible recorded that: " And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for this they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said , For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land". The story above is the story of Isaac, the covenant child of Abraham. Isaac was extremely wealthy in Gerar and the philistines envied him and put boulders in his way.

He dug wells in order to get enough water for his teeming herds, flocks, servants and himself, but no sooner he dug one well than philistines filled it with earth, until he dug the third one "and for this they strove not and he called the name of it Rehoboth....". His story is a story of persistence in the face of persecution, courage in the face of trials, staying power in the face of contention and wisdom in the face of brute foolishness. Isaac emerged a winner. He won so much that his enemies had to look for him to seek his cooperation!

There is someone reading this message in a corner of the world. Enemies have wearied you with battles and troubles but I have good news for you: a new day has come for you in Jesus' name. Like Isaac, your wells are regularly filled with earth- God will take you to your Rehoboth in Jesus' name. The journey to Rehoboth is not a cruise, it is a marathon. It is not a leisurely stride, it is a hard fight. It takes a whole day to look our best, it takes a whole lifetime to be our best!

Don't give up beloved! Isaac was a covenant child, a direct seed of Abraham,  yet.  battles assailed him! Jesus is Lord, yet, he suffered crucifixion . Elijah was a fire and thunder prophet, yet, he ran away from Jezebel! It is the mould of this world: but the truth of it all is that challenges are just new opportunities for greater advancement, if they are approached wisely.

Isaac could afford to engage the philistines in a duel but he chose peace. Jesus could unleash the terror of God against His accusers but He allowed them to have their way. Elijah forgot his fire momentarily and God had to take him home because he seemed to be too tired. It is not the weight of the load that bruises the head but the way it is carried. Carry the load with prayers, persistence, meditation on the word of God, praises, a merry heart, an open hand( giving) and a positive spirit and the enemy will have no option than to surrender to you. This will be your testimony today in Jesus' name.

Today, God will move you to Elim( Exodus 15 vs 27). He will settle you in your Rehoboth. The room of your testimony is too narrow: God will make more room for you. Every repeated trouble will bring resounding victory in Jesus' name. It is true that discouragement may come when the battles are coming in torrents but don't worry: those that are with you are greater than those against you.  The Lord of hosts is always ahead of the enemy and you will not be put to shame in Jesus' name. Amen.

1. Sing buoyantly and heartily unto the Lord:

Blessed be the King of Glory!  Pls, pray & share. God bless you. Pastor Dele Oyewale( August 21st, 2014).
