Topic: Raising An Altar Against Defeat & Shame.

Text: Genesis 13 vs 4. Exodus 17 vs 15, Revelation 11 vs 1.

I'm serving a God of covenant. He deserves my praises and worship. I shall build an altar of love and trembling in my heart unto Him and the whole world will bow to Him who lives in my heart forever and ever in Jesus' name.

It is a big deal to be a child of God! God is real and those who stay with Him must stay firm and strong. One of the ways to stand for God is to worship Him all the time and carry His presence everywhere you go. A child of God is expected to build altars for God in different places for different purposes. An altar is a place of worship separated and sanctified for a contact and direct connection to God.

In Genesis 13 vs 4, the Bible says Abraham made an altar where he called on the name of the Lord. As a matter of fact, Abraham made three altars: one in Shechem, another in Bethel and the third in Hebron. They are  all his places of worship. Moses built an altar in Exodus 17 vs 15 to celebrate the defeat of the people of Amalek as promised by God. All through the Bible, people of old built one altar or the other to worship, commemorate, or provoke heaven over certain needs dear to them.

You can also connect God through an altar. Specifically, today, I want you to raise an altar of God against defeat and shame in any area of your life. Satan works by instilling fears and anxiety in the mind of his victims. To overcome such and other unpleasant situations, build an altar in any corner of your room or house and tell God that the altar is raised to overcome shame and defeat. Ensure that you worship God continually on this altar and insist that defeat and shame are not your portion.

You may not know what the enemy intends to do in his stealing, killing and destroying ministry. Satan may have raised an altar of defeat and shame against you, and it is important that, you counteract him by raising an opposing altar. Sacrifices may have been offered to some strange idols in your name,  to provoke them to hurt and harm you, but as you raise this altar in the name of the Lord of hosts, the agenda of the enemy is foiled and broken in Jesus' name.

Beloved, raising an altar unto the Lord requires consistence and careful insistence on righteousness, because the altar is only functional to the extent of your sincere worship of the King. We must continue in the word of the Lord( John 8 vs 31); we must fulfill all righteousness( Matthew 3 vs 15) and our obedience must be complete( 2 Corinthians 10 vs 6). As we trust in the grace and mercy of God to do all these, satan and his hosts will be rendered impotent and their plots futile and barren in Jesus' name. The honour of God will knock off every agenda of defeat and shame made against you in Jesus' name. Amen. Shalom.

Praise & worship.
