My Eyes Are Upon You!

Topic: My Eyes Are Upon You!

Text: 2 Chronicles vs 12. Psalm 141 vs 8.

Confession:

My eyes are ever towards the Lord for the fulfillment of His promises concerning me. I believe that He will neither forget nor forsake me. He will open His hands unto me and satisfy my desires in Jesus' name. Amen

Exhortation:

God is beautiful to behold! Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah, pressed on every side and surrounded by enemy nations in all directions, cast their eyes on the Lord. In 2 Chronicles 20 vs 12, Jehoshaphat cried unto the Lord thus: " O our God, wilt thou not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee".

There are situations around us that may be like this circumstance of the people of Judah: troubles, temptation, confusion, stalemate, darkness, distress, cold silence from those that should talk to us, errors that cannot be excused; dilemma that we cannot ignore or outright attacks by unfriendly friends and friendly enemies! It could be a health challenge or financial fever that may become migraine if God does not intervene.

Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah admitted that they "have no might against this great company that cometh against us, neither know we what to do......" They were in a dead end, in a breaking point and at point zero! David painted the same scenario in Psalm 118  vs 10-11: " All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them. They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them"

Every crescendo of confusion is an opportunity to set our eyes upon the Lord! When we are down to nothing, God is up to something. Career and relationship crises are everywhere. Ministries are not crises-proof. There are challenges everywhere and in different shapes but God is available for our solution and support. It is a wonderful reality that God is never overwhelmed and He cannot be caught unawares! The Bible says: "They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed"( Psalm 34 vs 5).

God expects us to look unto Him in prayers, praises, calm confidence, obedience, quietness and silence, faith and unwavering zeal and He will show up! God is always looking for an opportunity to show Himself strong and mighty on behalf of His children. This is why we must be sure that we are His children and we remain so, no matter the virulence of the storm. Also, let your eyes be upon God not upon your boss, friend, sibling, colleague or anyone for that matter. Like the Psalmist, you must say: " My soul, wait thou ONLY upon God; for my expectation is from Him"( Psalm 62 vs 5, emphasis mine).

God alone knows what and who He will use to answer you: so, just wait and let Him decide. Help and support hardly come from expected quarters because it is the prerogative of God to determine where it comes from. Don't choose for God. Place your eyes upon Him and He will sort you out in Jesus' name. Lastly, remember that, there is no late hour or last minute with God. Just believe and you swill see the glory of the Lord in Jesus' name. Amen.
